WHERE CURIOSITY MEETS POSSIBILITY

The YMCA Early Learning Center’s mission is to provide a safe and caring environment for our community’s youngest learners. Our main focus is to help build children’s confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills through an immersive collaborative learning environment. Our program supports the cognitive, social-emotional, physical, language and literacy development of all children.

THE CREATIVE CURRICULUM®

The YMCA Early Learning Center utilizes The Creative Curriculum®, a developmentally appropriate, comprehensive curriculum that promotes positive outcomes for children. This research-based approach to teaching is centered around exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling preschool children to develop confidence, creativity and lifelong critical thinking skills while offering younger children an environment and experiences that are nurturing, responsive and intentional.

TODDLERS

The Creative Curriculum® for Toddlers is designed to help teachers and caregivers implement developmentally appropriate practices and offer responsive daily routines and meaningful experiences that nurture learning and development.

PRESCHOOL

The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool features exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skills. It is designed to help educators at all levels of experience plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, content-rich program for children with diverse backgrounds and skill levels.

Tanya Price, Director

I am so excited for the opportunity to be a part of the Y family. I come with 20 years of experience teaching, working with children and managing childcare programs. I have a passion to watch children learn and grow and believe all children deserve to have a safe, educational environment to learn and develop. I also have the opportunity to teach bible study and create the curriculum for our children’s Sunday School at our church every week. I believe teaching is heart to heart and my reward is watching the children develop character qualities that the Y stands for: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
